I picked up a Social Distortion shirt for £2.99 in HMV the other week. Fuck knows what that was all about. I can just about handle trendy stores selling MC5 and Ramones shirts, but Social Distortion?!
One of the things we're gonna do in my new band is some country songs rendered in a punk rock stylee, like Social Distortion and Jason and the Scorchers did... You can play the chords of something like 'Lovesick Blues' by Hank Williams in a chug-chug-chug punk rock stylee and it sounds really cool, it doesn't have to be a comedy cover or any shit like that... |
