Dumbledore trusts Snape because he turned his back on Voldemort and came over to the good guys well before Harrys parents were killed. The other Death eaters or whetever they were called only pretended to switch sides after HE was gone so they could get lighter sentences etc
Also the fact that Dumbledore has known Snape since he was a pupil.
