| Re: Old Scars... i am the same as you, i have a horrible scar at the back of my leg thanks to a football accident.
There are items on the market like ReJuveness but i would guess these were a fortune which begin to fade the scars away. I would doubt plastic surgery would do much though besides making more little scars to try and hide them, i have been told to get rid of my burn on my arm and the scar on by leg i would need a skin graff which means patchy skin.
I have heard that during operation procedures there is a form of steroid they inject into the wound when operating which means it will not be as inflammed looking, i am not too sure if the doctor would have any other information regarding this but i wish i knew about this before my leg operation.
The best advice is discuss it with the doctor if you havent already, he could suggest other ways that could limit the visability of these. I am afraid that there is no way of getting rid of them all together but maybe to cover them up but im sure your doctor can put you in touch with a specialist who can help you, but since it is a form of cosmetic surgery, it will not be cheap.
i know this is going to be a stupid idea but discuss it with your doctor first but what about acne scar removal cream, this is mainly available on prescription and it seems to be very effective on the worse of scars from what i have seen from my friends. There is a product which basically hides these scars called Silicol skin but it is kinda hard to find, i have seen it on ebay, but this is a very effective product, it masks the skin hiding anthing you dont want others to see and also it helps reduce the visability of scars.
