RSKL002: Orko - Travel Plans / Alex Kidd's Lonely Planet

Orko, a 4-piece hailing from Greenock in the west of Scotland, sound a little bit like they've taken the melodic indie rock of contemporaries like Stapleton, Biffy Clyro and 100 Broken Windows-era Idlewild and melded it with the emotional passion of seminal US bands like Far and Braid. But first and foremost, Orko sound like Orko.

Having self-released a couple of CD-R demos, this 7” is Orko’s debut single and is limited to just 300 – definitely an eBay item of the future. Chris Gordon of Deckard and Union of Knives’ production is the icing on the cake.

Travel Plans / Alex Kidd’s Lonely Planet is released Friday 2 December on Raskol Records, and can be bought here (and we'll chuck in a couple of free badges if you buy it online any time before release date).
