The ‘Alternative Nation’ Moderation Team would like to advise all users against using copyrighted images in their posts on this forum. For example, it has come to our attention that all images obtained from
BME are subject to copyright and thus may not be either hotlinked into the post text (ie. by adding [img] tags around the image link) or added as an attachment (by downloading onto your own machine and then adding as attachment). They may also not be uploaded into the AltNation gallery and linked to from there.
However you
may post a link to the picture you wish to refer to (ie. by adding [url] tags around the image link or simply posting the entire link, as the forum creates a link automatically).
These restrictions have been put in place to protect both the site and the users from legal action stemming from breach of copyright, and it would be appreciated if all users cooperated. Any posts not complying with these rules will be editted and may be deleted at Moderator discretion. We must stress that simply removing the watermark from a copyrighted image is
not acceptable, and leaves both us and the user subject to legal action. Plus it is simply extremely cheeky.
