I’m with you on every part of that except that I’d be talking about
Nevermind being the important one, not
Bleach … so I wouldn’t drop Nirvana into the debate on greatest
debut albums at all.
Anyway, we’re retreading the same ground here.
There must be important/classic debut albums in genres outwith the rock pantheon. We’re missing some tricks here. Disco records? Pop albums, given that pop acts are by nature transient and put it all into their debuts? Hip hop artists?
