The plan regarding the Travelodge is much smarter. If we leave Friday around 2-3 we can arrive at the travelodge around 6-7, which is 4 miles away from wakefield, then get a taxi into wakefield and go to the pub for a few hours. Stay Friday night, wake up whenever, goto the gig then back to the travelodge saturday night. Leave Sunday.
Its better because:
a) me and keef wont need to do a manky drive at 6am on Saturday
b) we can chill out on Saturday and get ready to play a gig. not trying to stay awake to get through it
c) we can have a mini-holiday and get drunk
d) it'll cost the same as going to Hull which is completely out of the way and will add about an hour/hour and a half to the trip
i checked the travelodge and will cost everyone £25 for the 2 nights. That and petrol wont cost that much and is a lot more convenient
