| DVDRW Turns Into 'CD Drive' OK - here's my problem.
My DVD-RW ( D: ) drive has worked fine since I got my PC. However, now, when I insert a DVD disc to be burned the ( D: ) drive turns into CD Drive.
To begin with I had THREE drives. I managed to delete the two offending new drives by uninstalling Daemon Tools and MagicISO (two new programs I had downloaded yesterday which mount files to virtual drives).
So I was left with my original drive but now I have this problem! I use my burner at least twice a week and it's really bothering me. I tried disabling and reenabling the drive to no avail.
When I try burn a file in Alcohol 120% it states the correct name for my burner (_NEC DVD+-RW ND-3530A(1:0)). So it still states it as a DVDRW but when I look under 'Devices with removable storage' in 'My Computer' it says CD Drive and only reverts back to DVD-RW when I eject the blank DVD.
Haven't tried burning a CD as I have none to hand. But I doubt it would burn.
Someone tell me whats up and maybe even tell me how to fix it?
I'm dying over here and SO close to just giving up and buying an external DVDRW which I'd really rather not do!
xx Kirsty
