Could be a good few reasons/excuses why he was doing that at the el-p gig though, I dunno if that's the way they always rock shit.
Either way, the big chap is what you're going to see, and he's entertaining. This group desperately need a new monicker though, because the current one's garbage, and it's a chore and embarrassment to tell someone who's never heard of them that you're going to see them.
