Re: Student tazed for not having ID

This guy is a troublemaker, though. Notwithstanding unsubstantiated third-hand rumours that he's done this sort of thing before, it's pretty obvious from the videos that he had already noised up the cops by the time he even got to speak. According to Kerry's Blog, the guy 'barged' to the front of the line and may have had words with the cops prior to this incident. And when the cops tried to escort him out, he immediately started yelling about being arrested, when they may well have simply been going to escort him from the building. And he talks bollocks about the police intending to kill him and other such paranoid fantasy.

That said, the cops totally over-reacted, perhaps because, as someone suggested, they were cadets who should never have been in charge of a stapler, never mind a taser. They couldnt think of a good reason to remove him from the premises in the first place, "inciting a riot" my left foot. Nobody cared when he was ranting, hell they appluaded when the cops started to take him away. Nobody even really cared when he started whining about being arrested, it seemed to me that it was only when they threatened to, and then did taser him unnecessarily, that people realised that the cops really were acting like arseholes.

A bit later I hear he was charged with the offense of disrupting a public meeting or something like that, to which there might be a shred of substance unlike the inciting a riot baloney, but they way it was dealt with at the time is almost as if the cops WANT us to hate them.

Cheers!
