Alternative, if you're worried about it, go to somewhere with a decent pharmacy, talk to someone there, see what they say.
If it was me, and the doctor told me 15 days to see about a possible eye problem, I'd go straight into A&E..
How about phoneing NHS24.. or whatever the phone line thing is?
