I imagine Brown survived it relatively unscathed because he had the side of his leg facing Binya, rather than the front. Totally gobsmacked by the tackle itself though, it was cynical beyond words.

Main men for me tonight were McGeady, Brown and McDonald. Centre-backs and (gasp) Naylor came into a good game, Hartley was his reliable self for the most part and Jarosik didn't do too badly before he was subbed. My concern would be big Jan's anonymity, don't know whether it was Benfica tactics but he didn't seem to be in the game save from one or two moments. Still, good result, and some nice football played, thumbs up.
