| Re: Scottish Independance North Sea oil is a huge asset but there's no way that Westminster is just gonna say "Well you voted for independence, here's yer oil fields back.". The whole thing would be a very messy affair. I used to be really pro-independence but I think the initial 10/20 years after any split would be really tough on the country, economic depression is a possibility. Right now I think we should stay as part of the Union but with continued and even extended devolved powers to Holyrood. We have a good balance for now.
I think a great deal of people who believe in independence see a dream scenario and watch a lot of Braveheart.
ps- I agree that it's inevitable though.
