I know you're saying that "hardcore" can be used to reference some other style of music, but I severely doubt this band are referring to "dance music"-style "hardcore". If they are, they aren't any less wrong and are still metal. |

They have absolutely
nothing to do with each other, have fun appropriating English for your own private language. Every other genre of music seems to do this with hardcore, which renders it even more meaningless than it was in the first place.
Might as well call your music shoegaze.
