He turns water into wine. His blood is drank regularly for Communion and it has a distinctly alcoholic edge to it. I get the feeling that inebriation was something conveniently left out of all the rituals in the more recent, puritan translations of the Bible. Check the Dead Sea Scrolls! I bet they all read like a rant by Father Jack, who was probably closer to God than anyone. |
