14. Daniel Farson - The Gilded Gutter Life of Francis Bacon: The Authorized Biography
A brilliant biography by Bacon's close friend Daniel Farson, it's not so much a biography as it is a book of memoirs by the author. Giving rare insight into Bacon's formative years in Ireland and his bohemian lifestyle in London whilst detailing with his ascent to international acclaim.
Interestingly enough Bacon wouldn't allow the book to be published until after his death, which is understandable given the colourful life he led.
