I've been thinking about changing contraeptive for a while now as being on the pill for 6 years I do worry about possible side effects.
I've been thinking about getting the Mirena (even though it's recommended for post-partum use rather than women who haven't had children) - it has the highest protection rate of all the methods, low side effect and risk profile (due to a much lower dose of hormone as it's only needed locally) and I won't have to rememeber to take a pill every day. |
I dunno why, i really don't fancy IUD's at all. The whole getting then in and out thing can be rather uncomfortable by all accounts and seems a bit more invasive than I'd like.
I don't like doctors up my flange more than they need to be
Implanon has a 99.9% effectiveness. I can assume the other 0.01% is due to girls being very close to the getting it out limit and having sex despite the fact you're warned it might not last the full 3 years, particularly if you're overweight.
