Mirena's tehcnically more reliable than sterilisation (don't ask how - I don't quite get it, but was told so by the gynaecologist at Stirling). I think I'm more swaying towards it because of the lower risk and side-effect profile (my mood swings and weight gain are pissing me right off). Having gynae exams don't bother me in the slightest cos I've seen (and done!) enough of them to be pretty immune to the embarrassment factor.

Apprarently it can be pretty uncomfortable to get it in, especially if you haven't had kids (cos your cervix is tighter), but again that doesn't bother me.

This thread has kind of strayed a bit too far into the realm of 'too much information'.
