| Re: What's on your mind? part XVI ADVICE ON YER COMMON OTC PAINKILLERS
Boots Paracetamol and Codeine - Codeine Phosphate Hemihydrate 8mg, 500mg Paracetamol per caplet/soluble tablet. This works well for most of my occasional malaises.
Boots Paracetamol and Codeine Extra - same as above, but with caffeine as well.
Solpadeine Plus - EXACTLY THE SAME as Boots P&C Extra, but more expensive.
Solpadeine Max - Codeine Phosphate Hemihydrate 12.8mg, 500mg Paracetamol per caplet. Strongest out the lot, no Boots equivalent to my knowledge.
All the above can be combined with Ibuprofen apart from particular Nurofen varieties (which contain codeine). If you are able to take it, get the 400mg kind, it's the strongest you can get OTC and has anti-inflammatory properties, which is useful for toothache. Check with the pharmacist to ensure whatever you get will be o.k. to use with the antibiotic as well (normally is), though if they're any good they should ask you themselves if you are taking any other medications. Sorry if this is all obvious to you, I'm just a worry wort.
