Typical New Labour MO: they spent a load of money commissioning a report into the dangers of drugs so they could use it as the basis of their drug law. They looked into medical risk, accidents under the influence, social harm... everything.

There was just one problem - it listed Alcohol as more harmful than some Class A's, and Tobacco was fairly high on the list too.
Hence, they threw the evidence out of the window, and just made the safe political move. In the mean time, a bunch of kids see the Government sponsored drug information site -
