Re: Wisdom tooth extraction - aftercare tips

my face and jaw were both pretty swollen when i got my two lower wisdom teeth taken out. the first one was pretty easy as the pus had eroded the majority of the tooth whilst the second was just mildly infected and didn't want to leave my mouth. it was overall the most painful thing i've had to go through yet. second only to being born.

i was advised to rinse it out with salt water (not alcohol-based mouthwash as it would irritate the wound) and take plenty of pain killers. they gave me cocodamol but it made me too ill and so i was stuck popping a concoction of paracetamol and ibuprofen.

be prepared for the worst two weeks your mouth has ever experienced.
