That Big Bang Theory is utterly atrocious, and exactly how I'd imagine a US version of Spaced. The problem with most mainstream US comedy isn't that it's necessarily "dumb" or irony-free, it's that for some reason the producers try to turn the end of every sentence into a punchline.
