The whole Quiverfull philosophy rubs me up the wrong way. From my reading about the Duggars, they educate all their children but train their boys to be leaders and their girls to be wives-of-men. Being almost constantly pregnant isn't actually good for a woman, and even with good healthcare it must be taking its toll on Michelle, and certainly it's not suited to all the women in the movement. When they say the reject all forms of contraception, they usually mean
all forms - rhythm method and other 'natural' forms included. As for the movement as a whole, the 'onward Christian soldiers thing', whilst on the surface just being about loving all your children as God-given and never rejecting them, often hides other racist/sectarian stuff. These attitudes are then being passed on to LOTS OF YOUNG, IMPRESSIONABLE CHILDREN - and with home-schooling also playing a big part in many of these families, they're not really being given a balanced perspective.
[EDIT: also, I hate children, and these people are giving birth to legions of them.]
