(Passion as related to notions of romantic love is a relatively modern idea - as is romantic love itself - emotions come and go with fashion.)
The passion of the Christ is different from the passion of the Magdalene and the passion of the tartan army. |
The dictionary has about 10 different definitions, all of which fit loosely under the first one: "any powerful or compelling emotion or feeling, i.e. hate or love".
