The portable version doesn't 'install' as such, it just sits in it's own wee folder. It's meant to be loaded onto a USB drive so you can use it on any machine you like. AFAIK this contains most of the new features etc of FF3 proper.
So far I'm really liking the improved way it handles saved passwords and bookmarks. | How will this protect my current settings?
