Re: Stretching FAQ

Hi guys.

Well Interesting read but would like to tell my story....

November 2007 - Whilst on a trip I got my right lobe done (as a spur of the moment thing) but as I wanted to stretch it I was offered for it to be pierced at a high gauge. The guy showed me a 2.4mm(10g) and a 3.2 mm(8g) ring. I did not like the 3mm ring at it looked to fat, so I decided on the 2mm. Didn't hurt much.
Then in the market across the road I seen a stall selling tapers, so I had a look, and decided to get a 4mm(6g) and a 6mm(2g) taper as the guy said a 2 gauge jump is ok. Waited 3 weeks, then put the taper 4mm in. Was sore for a bit, and had to push quite hard to get it in but no problems.
Got a tunnel for it then I decided to get my other ear done as I found out I had the "gay" ear pierced, and I find 1 ear silly so wanted to stretch them both the same size (and I also wanted my lip done).

March 2008 - After looking around my local area (As I don't trust the tattooist in my town with a needle) I found a Piercing guy by the name of Shawn (Rebel Metal, Cwmbran) And what he did was basically what I had done before but straight away, so he pierced it at 2mm and stretched it to 4mm there and then.
It hurt a bit more than the one I did myself, a hot pinch is the best way to describe it, but then again he was stretching a fresh piercing. Got matching 4mm plugs and got my lip done after my ear, came out with a sore ear and a non-hurting lip.

May 2008 - Got a set of tapers off eBay, as I lost my 6mm I got from the market, and was needing a pair. Got a 3mm(8g), 4mm(6g), 5mm(4g), 6mm(2g), 8mm(0g), 10mm(00g), 12mm(1/2") and 14mm(9/16") set (two of) for very cheap.
I put the 5mm taper in my right ear, and it went in like a treat, I didn't feel it until the o-ring stopped me from pushing it straight through, I was like "well that was easy", but the left ear (only a month or so old) pinched for about 10 seconds and was fine. Not bad I said to myself. 3 days later put in the 6mm, and both went in perfectly..........

And that's were I am at the moment, (put the 6mm's in about an hour ago) So yeah, my goal is 10mm. I might wait a little longer than 3 days before I put in the 8mm as its a bigger jump than before. But might try the 8mm on the weekend, see what happens, if it hurts I will stop. Will post back when i do.

Summary with healing time.

Right ear (in mm) 2 3 weeks > 4 6 months > 5 3 days > 6
Left ear (mm) 2 5 seconds > 4 1 month > 5 3 days > 6

Note, gave my 3mm taper to a friend who has a normal piercing (either gun or DIY, not to sure), went in ok, took it out after the 1st day and it bleed, put it back in. Now has a 3mm plug.

=] Any questions just ask, I've done my research on stretching through friends and internet.
