Well when it comes to cars, i don't think you have much alternatives if you're going to change the wheels.
When it comes to gui however, i think WoW has prooven via the addons system that Guis can be very different look but have the same use. It doesn't look like they have even tried to be innovative in that front and for an RPG MMORPG it's a big part of the game.
I'm gonna wait with this game until i see something unique about it.
