When i was younger i assumed being alternative was being different, and having a respect for individuality as a result, but no. For the most part its just another group of folk who all copy each other in there attempts at originality and cast out anyone who doesnt follow the herd.
Ive found that if you go out of your way to be 'alternative' then your probably just another social chameleon, where as if you dont actively try to follow the trends, fucking relax, and just happen to like unusual clothing/music you are an individual, and therefore 'alternative'.
