| Re: What Did You Just Finish? Children of the Revolution by Dinaw Mengestu
The tale of a young man who flees Ethiopia during a coup and starts a new life in America. In many ways it paralleled The Great Gatsby because it held up the ideals of the American Dream before undermining them and demonstrating how they cannot be attained by everyone within society.
I still can't decide whether or not I liked it. I did find it interesting but at the end I was left somewhat unfulfilled.
