Crosas Aiming To Prove A Point At Celtic
Marc Crosas believes that he knew his time at Barcelona was coming to an end when the club made their summer signings and now aims to prove himself at Celtic.
The Catalan playmaker rose through the ranks at Camp Nou after joining the club at 13, but recognised that breaking into the first team was going to almost impossible this season.
Pep Guardiola told Crosas that he could stay and try and earn a place but that his chances would be very limited after he returned from a six-month loan spell with Olympique Lyonnais.
Now the 20-year-old is aiming to prove that his career will not suffer because he has left the Blaugrana and is relishing testing himself with the Bhoys.
"Football does not begin and end with Barça," he told Sport. "I have finished that chapter in my life now because I have known from the start that they would not count on me.
"In the world of football you have to be intelligent and see how many players they have signed and what a great squad they now have.
"I only regret not being able to show if I had the quality to succeed here or not.
"You always think about making it into the first team, but not everyone can do that and it is clear that things do not begin and end here.
"My aim now is to become the player I know I can be and then people will know if I could have succeeded at Barça."
Crosas had numerous offers but revealed that the work that Celtic put in to try and make him go to Parkhead is what swung his decision to join them.
"The great interest from Celtic persuaded me," he added.
