I've just read through all 16 pages of this, and i have to say, a few things were said on the particular introduce yourself post which were less than friendly. The tone of alot of it and the questions Ket was being asked are not ones you would as someone you'd just met in, for example, a club.
I am utterly disgusted that people have branded someone they have never met 'a loon' in order to justify treating them badly. I am not saying Ket had mental problems, but if so, wouldn't that be more of a reason not to push his buttons?
I think it's a matter of realising that people are different, and when someone is obviously upset by something, continuing to 'take the piss' out of them isn't helpful, or nice, even if you do find it funny. I was under the impression, when I joined, that the whole point of introduce yourself was to make people feel welcome as new forumers.
The forum may not be 'real life', but does that mean that people have to stop acting like decent human beings? |
