Yeah I properly laughed out loud at a couple of bits in this book as well, and I got all emotional reading about the wee boats at Dunkirk. It made me feel borderline patriotic for a couple of minutes there...
The only frustrating thing was it took me SO long to read the book because I was trying to absorb so many new facts - towards the end I totally couldn't be bothered with the jokes any more and just wanted him to get on with it. Still though, good read.
