It depends on the acrylic really. Acrylics have lots of different formulas, some are more water soluble than others. Also, acrylics dry really quickly because of the 'plastic' element to them, where water colours don't, so it dries a bit patchy. as purkle says, you'd be best off just going to poundland and buying a cheap set if you want to do a one off painting.

If you are V stuck, I could post you a wee tube of whatever colour acrylic you need, I have craploads of the wee ones.
