To be fair, they can't be THAT orthodox if the wife is a doctor. Also, from what I remember as long as THEY don't physically switch on the lights themselves ie flick a switch, it doesn't infringe anything. Our Rabbi used to smoke a pipe outside the synagogue on festivals. As long as someone else lit his pipe for him he was fine with that.
I suppose there are different degrees of Orthodox but even I find it a bit ridiculous. |
