It was Real Madrid that started the Fletcher thing.
At the start of the season they produced a list of the top 50 or 100 young players that they consider worth watching. And Fletcher was on that list.
Petrie can ask any sum of money he wants for his players. At the end of the day something is only worth as much as someone will pay for it. He might've got 4.5 for Brown but he got Fuckall for Caldwell.
I also can't see anyone paying 4Million for Steven Fletcher. IF he goes, it'll be closer to 2/3 than 4/5.
