Natural causes at the age of 97 so I think the phrase "good innings" applies. Still sad though. He's maybe better known these days for his work in TV cop show The Streets of San Francisco but with a filmography that includes supporting roles in A Streetcar Named Desire, On the Waterfront, The Birdman of Alcatraz and Patton, to name a few, he was a bit of an underrated legend. |
