| More Adverts Costs
Unfortunately nearly everything in the world costs money. It's a reality we all have to come to terms with and AN is no different. Servers cost money and that money has to come from somewhere. Adverts
So we've added another advertising areas to the site and will probably look at adding one or two more.
We had a couple of options.
Add pop ups - I hate pop up and so does everyone else .
Add more big banner from some corporate ad company - It's an option but we already have that
Add banners from the good guy down the street - I like this idea. So what is it?
It's a white hole obviously - I had to say it before someone else did.
These adverts are kind of special in that anyone (that includes you reading this) can buy them and you don't have to spend a £100. For a pound or two you can buy an advert on the site. All you do is click advert space up there and follow the instructions.
So if you have a gig coming up, a record coming out, a club night promote, jewelry to sell, a site to pimp, or even just want to wind up a mate for a few quid now and a little effort designing the button you can do it.
Heres how it works... Quote:
Advertising on Alternative Nation is offered through Project Wonderful. We bring a model of transparency and fairness to online advertising. Ads are sold through our innovative infinite auction model: you bid on an advertising slot, and for as long as you are the high bidder, your ad is displayed. You can bid whatever price you'd like for as long as you'd like: two days, a week, a year - it's your choice.
All bids are in "CPD", or "cost per day" - you simply tell us how much you're willing to pay for a day's worth of advertising, and whenever you are the high bidder, your ad will be displayed! You're only charged for the time periods when your ad is shown. You can also set hard expense limits on your bids, so you'll never get charged more than you expect. You can find out more about the auction process here. | So if you get a bid in soon you could get your advert up for next to nothing .
Oh and as always site sponsors don't see the adverts so if you really hate them for as little as £2 a week you can banish them and all other adverts from your sight. > Sponsor Altnation

*oh the irony!* | I could put an option in that allows you to choose wither or not to see certain adverts .
Having said that you could just logout and have a look . Quote:

| Re: More Adverts pesky speedy Unkle, if I had image editting software on this comp then I'd have gotten a better pic as well
But aye, it's free advertising for you for up to two days at present btw people, get in quick and have fun and/or test the system out so you can see how easy it is to advertise & promote your site, band or any other projects using it, the prices will go up as "real" advertisers with their marketting budgets get in on the act but hopefully never to a level where it's unrealistic for AN members to use the spaces for a time. |

| Re: More Adverts Or just use IE for that - when I open my emails from MSN it opens IE anyway so can just use that
My £30 will still be joining you again then
Also, you need an option so we can donate extra if we want - without just buying overlapping subscriptions |
