| Turn Back Time - Server Move Cancelled. As some of you might have guessed, we've had to abort the server move and go back to the old one.
Turns out, the old one was better anyway.
If anybody wants the technical details (presumably because they're nosey, 'cos they're not that interesting) let me know and I'll post them up, but for the rest of you: the new server didn't work right, so we've gone back. |

Just to clear up any confusion, I don't
Oh, and aye… obviously posts from 5am onwards were on the new server, and there's not a chance in hell I'm going to attempt to pull them back onto this one. Sorry folks. |

One good thing thats come of this is the current host has reduced thier price they still don't beat the new hosts price but it's a big jump.

If the new server is completely managed (i.e., you can't go in and fix things that break yourself, even if you have the technical know-how to do it), it's not helpful if a support ticket takes 8 hours to get a response, especially when you're already running late with a move as it is. There were a few problems (cPanel getting itself very confused about domains, mostly), but the nail in the coffin was running out of disk space completely unexpectedly (last I looked, 60GB is less than 110GB), and having to wait around until support people in the US get out of bed in their morning to find out why. |
