| Moving Server Our host will be moving the server tonight between midnight and 6am so there will be some downtime during this.
Come out to bamboo and get drunk then go to sleep it's the best option to avoid this period of non forum .

Cheers for the offer though

If I could I'd have a peek at the strikes dbtable and make sure it is clear & not holding on to old invalid entries (generally can be emptied with no ill effects but <backup first diclaimer>). |

| Re: Moving Server Well I can finally log on myself.
Seems the DNS settings were set up using Mo's DNS server rather than our own so the ip changes were causing problems they should now be fixed but it could take a while for isps to get up to speed. unfortunately it's a case of waiting till that happens but the majority of us should be working ok again.

| Re: Moving Server If I'd spotted this post last night I could've had it sorted sharpish. Whoops!
Old cached DNS entries should go away for post people within about 10 minutes, though some weird DNS servers at irritating ISPs could well take longer. |

| Re: Moving Server Most people, unfortunately, can ignore what I said just there, ‘cos the way things have been changed post-move means that I only had control of DNS for people who'd been to the site within a certain timeframe—because the nameservers have changed, me changing things at my end won't make a blind bit of difference to anybody arriving at the site without the old info cached.
So, although I'm happy for Forbes to blame me, it ain't my fault just now |
