Quite right, but everyone's always known this. Same with the so-called "Honesty threads". In fact, in many cases, "The Forum" itself. Why don't you just get rid of it altogether. You know I'd fully endorse this maneuver You don't need it anymore anyway, Manson!

I know that at times it might feel like that but really this place is quite often bloody amazing. Think of all the people you've met via the forum that are great people, think of the good times you've had because of those people and you'll realise while the forum does have a fair amount of shite it's probably counter balanced by a fair amount of good stuff.

Heck even sex has been shite at times doesn't mean I'm going to give up on it .

The awards is meant to be banter. There was an atmosphere pointed nastiness about this one.
I'll admit to having had a guilty laugh at some of the comments on the leaked results, but there was plenty potential for people to actually be hurt here and some private personal details getting thrown about that even Donald Findlay QC couldn't explain away as banter.

Ehh, I hope you were speaking generally there... but as you quoted me I’ll assume you’re mainly speaking to meh, in response to my post. To be honest, Forbes, I can only think of 1 person (ONE!) who I’ve met via the forum, or thereabouts. And even that was a terrible disappointment ( ). Anyone I’ve known or met who happens to have a forum account, has been through randomly bumping in to them when I’ve been out and about, FIRST OF ALL; by chatting randomly to new people you meet and stumble upon when you’re out “IRL”~! And/or through friends, or indeed, friends of friends who know them too. It just so happens that many of these people, whether I consider a few of them my bum-chums, or not, I didn’t personally meet because of ‘the forum’.

I won’t slag it too much, as I know what you say is true. As in, it applies to a lot of people – many have met some who they considered to be “cool new folk” and/or shiters, directly through the forum. But I’m not one of them, and personally, I’ve always found “making friends on the internet” really fucking weird, kind of sad and fucked up; and generally not a very healthy way to approach things. Always have, and still do tbh. It's actually cringe-worthy to witness, never mind being associated with in any (accidental) way

Anyway, sorry, I went on a bit of a tangent there, but it seemed relevant to what you seemed to be saying (in response to me?). Plus, I've not slept in like, forever; so probably stopped making any kind of half coherent sense about 29 hours ago!
