| Re: Site Sponsors aye, gods forbid any of it's users actually help promote AlternativeNation.net
The wee "Remove Adverts" under the header banner is cool & the like but to get folk sponsoring the site in the future once the announcements have aged & novelty worn off there has to be some way that users know the option exists. Folk read posts, folk recognise post content owner by the username, avatar & sig areas and so they are the least blind spots (after post text area) on the forums' pages, an image there is the best visible place to advertise that users can help eg. keep the site from crashing at peak times, might even be an idea to link the image to the Sponsor page.
I say cheers to those who are making the sponsorship stuff visible and promoting the idea of getting extra stuff helping site costs. |

It is not showing off, just showing support. I was happy to pay money to Forbes to keep this place running as it is and for improvements and I see no reason why I shouldn't show that I have done so. I am not better than any other user though and I doubt any other person who has their "AN Sponsor" tag feels that either. It is also not about extras (although they are good) but about just generally helping out a good site that I enjoy.
