I dislike kittens.
AN costs money, a lot of money and it's getting to the stage the advertising doesn't cover the costs, so rather than go back to the horrible days of pop ups and look at adding more advertising to the site (which we might still do for guests), we've set up a Sponsor system which we hope some members will take advantage off. In return for your hard earned cash we give some perks back, as a thank you.
There are a number of donation options
£2 Donation - 1 Week
£5 Donation - 1 Month
£10 Donation - 3 Months
£30 Donation - 1 Year
IMPORTANT: Please only select one subscription package at a time and let it expire before selecting another subscription. i.e. don't subscribe to the £2 and the £5 because they will both run jointly and they will end at the earliest one.
Where do I subscribe?
You have to be a member and go to User CP > Paid Subscriptions > Then select a subscription package and make a payment via Pay Pal.
All transaction will be handled by pay pals secure service and we will never see your credit card details.
What do I get if I donate?
For the period mentioned in the donation you get these perks
Max PM's increased from 500 to 3000
No Banner Adverts
Site Supporters Icon (if you want) -
Max Avatar file Size increased from 10kb to 20kb

How do I get my sponsor image?
Go to User CP > Group Memberships > select display Site Sponsor

We will look at what else we can add for sponsors at the moment nearly everything we could give is already free to users but in the future we might find other things we can give as perks.
What does my money go towards?
Hosting the site, it currently costs thousands of pounds a year to run the site and servers. Your money will help cover this.
But your removing adverts for us, I thought adverts paid for the site, won't removing them reduce the advertising money?
That's a good question and the answer is that we already server more adverts than we can be paid for. Basically we have over 3 million pages looked at every month and only get paid for about a million of those. So by giving you advert free browsing were not really lowering the number of paying adverts we show unless 2/3 of people using the site sign up.
So why do we only get paid for a million adverts?
Advert blockers remove adverts for a lot of people now and also other adverts we show above the million are pay per click and have a low click rate in general. Also the revenue for adverts has dropped over the years making the money we get from them lower.
Do I have to pay? I can't Pay?
Don't worry we won't force anyone to pay. This is here as a way for people to help fund the place if they want.
What if no one donates, will the site close?
Over my dead body! No matter what I'd find a way to keep this place a live, I'm sure someone will pay for Shannows hot ass. Still I'd rather not have to sell Shannow so please donate.
What if I get banned?
Don't get banned but if you do you'll lose the perks.
Alternative Nation reserves the right to suspend or terminate your subscription if you breach these terms and conditions, with or without notice and without further obligation to you.
Can I get a Refund?
Sorry we won't give refunds this is a donation to the site. Please make sure you can afford it before donating.

er.... what if your Paypal account e-mail address is different from your AN e-mail addy? There doesn't seem to be an additional information bit on the Paypal screen to put your AN username in.
