New amok gig!

Hello everyone! Its been a long time coming, but the we at amok will be unleashing another thrash attack come june! Things have been a bit slow recently casue of exams and whatnot, but the thrash will be back on the 16th!

Right here's the details (for band members and amokkrewers alike!) Its being put on by Unborn Records at the attic bar in Glasgow - need to find where that is! Its not pay to play, like the wiseguys shows we've done. Tickets will be sold for 4bar and we have a target of 30 to try and sell (70bar to be given to promoter at sound check) - but all moneys are split evenly to all the bands on the night! So we could have some more cash for us lot in it if we do as well as we did at the Bolt Thrower gig!

We also get the customary crate of lager so im told!

Oh, and its a half hour set too! SHRED AND SLAY \m/

Just a small note - when i said 70 bar to the promoter at sound check, that would be 70 if we sold 30, but bascily we hand over whatever we make to him at sound check then later we get our cut!

we should aim high and get a newbie in the set, out of control or the crusader are the easiest, dead to the world we should do soon, im just working on a better chorus, plus it'l take a few practices to get tight and build up the stamina haha, its a fuckin wrist killer

Doubt we'll get a newbie in to be honest for the 16th? We should aim for it though aye. I need to get my fucking guitar fixed, the bridge has collapsed

Hey hey! Good to see that theres a wee buzz about the forum again! Aye a was told its above the best kebab, lol! Tho thats ideal, i mean think about it, we can play and then head straight dwnstairs for a scran - we should dine in the 'eat in restuarant' part, haha!

Out of control is flying, seems easy enough to learn mind you, iv got the vocals sorted but need to see that new structure cal.
Also Greg, if your guitar is out of action you can use my rg if you want, av customed it again so its sounding at its best and also just got a full set up

Calum, what's all this about getting a new one in?! What happened to working Message back in? Amok should draw a line under the old stuff by doing an 'Old Days' demo featuring the songs that got into the set prior to the 'unpleasantness' at The Vale that seemed to end that era of Amok.



Cool about the gig though, gives me plenty of notice to be back on the west coast and that. Who else is on the bill?

Yeh it doesn't look like to drastic a problem, but you know me I'm a guitar illiterate. As long as it plays I'm fine


I like that idea, of doing an 'Old Days' demo, although no doubt if we re-recorded the old songs, our love for them would be re-ignited and we'd get them back in the set. Sounds like a cool project though

i know what ye mean about drawing the line under the old stuff, but i mean, the way i see it, if we have better stuff then we should be working on that. i prefer the newer stuff anyway lol.

My right hand is like a spaz at the moment, not practiced in a while. I think we should learn no faith like the way on the demo anol. I'm finished exams on the 24th but aren't completely free til around 3rd June cos my Nike job finishes the 28th then I'm off to Aberdeen on the 30th for like 3-5 days or something. I can fit in a practise though on a Saturday before then but that's all really.
