Hey all, just off the fone to Josh from our good friends Pitiful Reign, and theyve managed to get us on a bill for an all day thrash event on the 24th of feruary in wakefield. Ive checked, its a saturday, so we could potentially drive down and back up on the same day like Kwando did. I need you guys to contact me soon as, later!

If we dont do this then it would be really silly and hypocritical of us as its a great chance to get a foot in the scene.

Its just the logistics of it that need sorted out. I am assuming id be driving. I wouldnt be to happy taking 5 folk in old bessy plus equipment. Its pretty old and i dont trust it over that long distance so i think we would be looking at a two car job. Also i wouldnt be keen on driving down and up on the same day, especially after doing a gig. Thats like over 10 hours driving in one day GRIM lol You say that calum but the furthest youve driven is the length of the driveway. But id do it at a last resort cos im a champion. What about trains?

Aye I'm free and up for driving although to be honest I wouldn't if it means driving in one day. If we stay the night and get pished I'll be happy to drive up on Sunday morn

just seen its thats doors open at 1pm. Gonna be a dead early start. Im kinda thinking maybe heading down on the friday cos remember we have to get to Hull first. I aint to keen on driving down to wakefiled to do a gig then have to drive to hull to get up next morn and drive back to scotchland again. Maybe its just my alchoholic tendencies coming through i wanna drink lol. Anyways im throwing it out there lol

i also throw up into the air that i might be able to get my hands onto the "executive" Saab lol. So all five of us would be able to travel in air conditioned style. Options everywhere but as the politicians say i am openeing up the debate lol

Yeh lets head down on Friday. I don't fancy driving down at like 7am Saturday morning. And also we need to sort out what happens after the gig cos i'm not driving everyone back to Hull either. I'd like to get drunk, severely drunk

nah, i propose we head down dead early on the saturday, in the one car if keith can get the saab, im not gonna ask josh to stay an extra night, to put up extra people, use all their equipment, to get them to drive us about, just so we can get pished and stumble back to their house, a tad wide i say.

i know im not driving, but i think thats the best thing to do. im gonna ask josh if hes got the mini bus, if they do we can drink, but if they dont, and the drivers/driver cant drink then the whole band doesnt drink.

Having read the previous replys about transport and whatnot i am goin to throw in my tupence worth too. Having done my turn at a few long distance drives before i recon either of the following scenarios are best:

1) leave late on friday night (ie.) 12pm or even before that and take our time on the drive down making regular stops at services and whatnot to keep fresh. OR

2) leave early saturday, but by early i mean like 4/5pm and drive down, again takin our time.

Reason being i dont see us leaving at 7am on saturday as being sensible as we need to take into account gettin to Hull fisrt, then traveling up to wakefield. Not forgetting the traffic as it will only get busyer as the day goes on AND The gig starts at 1pm, so we'l prob need to get there for about 11 or somehing so time isnt on our side with the original plan!

(unless we just drive straight to wakefield and then drive back to josh's afterwards, although that would mean holding off on drink til we get back to josh's!)

I agree that it would eb a bit shit to ask josh to put us up of for two nights, even tho at a push he prob would. Thing is, if we go with any of the ideas iv pitched we could still get a few hours kip in before leaving AND get a few hours in on arrival. If we were to say to josh wed arrive at his house for about 8am then we could get a quick head down before heading to wakefield. And if we limit the ppl we take to 3 that would mean we could do 4 to a car and if need be get a quick sleep in the cars as we'd have the space with there being 1 less person per car!

Anyways that what i think, if i were insured i would have been more than willing to take turns at the wheel on any of the cars so ppl can sleep but sadly im not. And besides if you think about it, ppl will fall asleep on the way down anyways so as long as one person is wake to keep the drivers company then sleep is not an issue!

haha sorry i was pished last night when i was posting. Aye if there is no bus then the plan is driving down early sat morning. If we cant stop at Hull first then its basically the journey to dornoch which is nowt. At the end of the day this is more of a business trip than pleasure. Reading will be about pleasure lol. I prob will have the saab cos i doubt the escort will make it down and back in one piece. At the end of the day we will prob end up getting pished back at josh's anyway
