Rob Rage is on a distinguished road
Exclamation New Guitarist + Summer Road Rage 2007!

NEW GUITARIST ANNOUNCEMENT

We are pleased to announce Stephen Bell of Coatbridge, Lanarkshire has joined Attica Rage as lead guitarist following the recent departure of Shaun Nelson. Shaun has had to take some time out for personal reasons for an indefinite period and we have left the door open for him. We wish him all the best and will be keeping in touch. However, we've got big plans ahead and we're excited and pleased to welcome Stephen onboard, on a full-time permanent basis as our new lead guitarist. Stephen is an amazing guitarist, influenced by the likes of Slash, Eddie Van Halen and Randy Rhoads, and he's been a friend of the band for a few years now. He was our first choice to bring in and we're looking forward to getting our live set ready for the summer tour. Photos coming soon on http://www.myspace.com/atticarage !

SUMMER ROAD RAGE 2007

We will be hitting the road for an eight-date tour titled 'Summer Road Rage 2007' between May and July – visiting Ayrshire, Glasgow, Dundee, Aberdeen and Berwickshire in Scotland plus a visit to Coventry in England to compete in the Rock and Blues Custom Show Battle of the Bands 2007. We're back at AlbaWest Bike Show this year and once again, will be joining up with our Shetland buddies, Ten Tonne Dozer for the Glasgow and Aberdeen dates. Aside from Glasgow & AlbaWest, all the other dates will be our first time visits! We will be performing brand new songs from the forthcoming debut album as well as live favourites from the EP and, as always, some classic rock and metal cover versions. In addition, Jonny will be performing a special solo acoustic set of Attica songs at the PunkRockBlues: Acoustic night in Glasgow also featuring alt.blues songwriter & slide guitarist Dave Arcari of The Radiotones and original punk JonZip of The Zips.

NEW EP REVIEW

Two years on and we're still receiving new, positive reviews of the EP! We are currently featured in The Metal Horizon section of Indie IN-TUNE, an online magazine that promotes the best new independent music from around the world. The Metal Horizon provides worldwide coverage of the best up and coming Indie Metal artists across the globe.

Read the full feature review here:

Quotes:

"Attica Rage engages the purity of rock-hard riffs with a melodic arrangement of verses"

"...well-tuned, fine-blended, old-school adaptations of the masters like Black Sabbath..."

We won't mention the bizarre comparison to Europe here....you'll need to read the full review for that!

FUNDRAISING

We'd like to mention a couple of Attica-related fundraising achievements that have taken place over the last few months: Firstly, well done to our own Big C for raising an amazing £1000 for Comic Relief 2007 by shaving off his signature beard! This is the second Comic Relief that he has taken out the scissors and razor to help raise money. We would have posted a photo of his beard-less cherub face on Myspace but he won't let us (although there is one of the band's last gig supporting Mark E Smith and The Fall on there so have a sneaky peek). He has already started growing it back in so by the time you see Big C next, he'll have the beard back in full grizzly flow! But it was a sight to behold, I tell ye!

Secondly, congratulations to Sikotick Records whose all-day live music event in January in Newcastle-under-Lyme raised over £500 for Cancer Research and the Douglas MacMillan Hospice. This event was to launch the forthcoming compilation CD "Rock Against Cancer" which Attica Rage have contributed a track to. The CD will be released soon and we'll keep you posted on full tracklisting and purchase details as we get them.

NEW PHOTOS ON MYSPACE

We have added some photos from the last few gigs, supporting Mark E Smith and The Fall and KISS tribute Dressed to Kill. We'll also be adding some new group photos with Stephen soon so keep checking back at http://www.myspace.com/atticarage

ALBUM LATEST

Recording is finally in the last phase with just the guitar solos to lay down before mixdown and the tracks are sounding great so far! It'll still be a good while until a release date is confirmed as there's a lot of background preparation, label set-up and stuff to be done. In the meantime, you'll get to hear some new songs live in our summer tour sets so get along to the venue nearest you! For CDs and mp3 downloads of the EP, visit http://www.resonancestore.com/atticarage and http://www.scotloads.co.uk

So, we hope you can come out and see us on our Summer Road Rage tour and give Stephen a warm welcome aboard!

Cheers!

ATTICA RAGE
