ROCK & BLUES SEMI-FINALS > SHETLAND INVASION RETURNS >
ABERDEEN > PUNKROCKBLUES ACOUSTIC! THURSDAY 28 JUNE – ROCK & BLUES CUSTOM SHOW BATTLE OF THE BANDS SEMI-FINALS
Queens Hall, 75 Queens Road, Nuneaton, Coventry, Warwickshire CV11 5LA
Our first heat in the Rock and Blues Custom Show Battle of the Bands 2007 on 28 May was a success and we are now through to the Semi-Finals, one step closer to the main prize of opening this year's festival to a capacity crowd supporting the likes of The Levellers, Scorpions with Uli Jon Roth and MSG.
We want to take a posse of Scottish Attica fans down south with us for this one to help spread the Rage. Any of our fans and friends wanting to join us on the road trip, get in touch at
info@atticarage.com and we'll give you meet-up points for the convoy (you'll need your own transport as seats in ours are limited) and we'll help sort out accommodation. We'll be leaving Glasgow on the morning of Thursday 28 June, staying overnight and returning back to Glasgow for the 13th Note gig on the Friday. We also wanna see as many of our friends and fans from the East Midlands area out in force to help us with the votes, cheer us on and get us to the final!
Check out

THURSDAY 5 JULY – PUNKROCKBLUES ACOUSTIC @ STATE BAR, GLASGOW
http://www.myspace.com/punkrockbluesglasgow
"Frontmen from three leading Scottish punk, rock and blues bands come together for an exciting one-off triple-header acoustic show under the banner of PUNKROCKBLUES. The punk element comes courtesy of Jonzip McNeill, frontman of first-generation Glasgow punk band The Zips whose recent CD album guitars4hire and riotous live shows are showing new audiences what real punk is all about. Jonny Parr of hard rockers Attica Rage provides a good dose of rock to the mix as he prepares to launch the band's debut album later in the year. The bill is completed by Dave Arcari of alt.bluesers Radiotones who has more recently built a reputation as a solo singer/songwriter and 'hell-raising National guitar madman' with a string of CD releases and UK tour dates under his belt."
If ye ever wondered how Attica Rage would sound just on a 12 string acoustic with vocals, get along to this! Jonny will be performing some of the well-known Attica tracks as well as brand new songs from the forthcoming album along with a couple of select cover versions. JonZip, Jonny & Dave will finish off the night performing a couple of songs together. We're expecting a busy wee bar so best to buy tickets in advance (£5) from the guys, the venue or online at
http://www.myspace.com/punkrockbluesglasgowand if you want a seat, best get there for doors opening at 8pm. But this ain't gonna be yer typical safe, sit-down, polite acoustic gig.....you have be warned!
NEW PHOTOS ON FANS, BANDS, FRIENDS & HEROES SLIDESHOW
We've added a bunch of new photos of our friends at Attica gigs to the slideshow so check em out at
http://www.myspace.com/atticarage and see if you recognise anyone, or maybe even yourself!
So, hope you can make either of the Ayrshire gigs next weekend and if you fancy coming along to the Semi-Finals in Nuneaton, give us a shout and we'll give you all the info. If not, there is always Glasgow and Aberdeen too. Remember to order tickets for PUNKROCKBLUES night if you are definitely planning on coming along because we don't want to be turning folk away at the door!
Cheers!
