Exclamation PunkRockBlues - Glasgow - 30 November - The Alternative St. Andrews Night!

Scotland has a lot to feel proud about, especially with recent events, and although we never really need a reason or excuse for a great night out, with St. Andrew's Day approaching, there is one event that can't be missed!

PUNKROCKBLUES - The Alternative St. Andrew's Night Celebration!

Three leading Scottish punk, rock and blues bands come together for an exciting St. Andrew's night triple-header show under the PUNKROCKBLUES banner at Nice 'n' Sleazy, Sauchiehall Street, Glasgow on Friday 30 November.

With the Sex Pistols back in the charts and High St fashion ripped 'n' torn, the punk element comes from Glasgow's self-styled Stepfathers of Punk THE ZIPS who released their latest EP '30 Years of Punk Rock' on 26th October. Hard rockers ATTICA RAGE provide a good dose of rock riffs to the mix with their new lead guitarist now firmly established and an impressive list of UK dates played through 2007. The band has recently completed sessions for debut album - 'RUIN NATION' due for release on their own label Vanduara Records early next year.

The bill is completed by alt. bluesers RADIOTONES whose frontman Dave Arcari takes time out of his solo tour schedule to play a rare band date in Scotland.

The one-off show follows the sell-out success of an acoustic PUNKROCKBLUES gig in Glasgow in the summer which featured solo acoustic performances by JonZip McNeill (The Zips), Jonny Parr (Attica Rage) and Dave Arcari (Radiotones). "The acoustic show was a huge success and we had so much fun we thought we'd scale the thing up and organise a band version along the same lines", says Arcari. "And of course, being St. Andrew's night, we'll have some suitably themed shenanigans for gig go-ers."

Each of the bands will be performing their own version of a classic Scottish song in their sets along with a finale plus there'll be special souvenir t-shirts on sale. Doors open downstairs from 8pm, showtime starts 8.45pm. Entry on door is £5. For advance tickets and more info visit www.myspace.com/punkrockbluesglasgow
