Punk although I do love proper metal
I like a bit of everything, although both Metal and Punk seem to have been ridiculously watered-down for the most part over the years. I'd say there are a LOT more Metal bands that I like than Punk bands, though, and people generally tend to try and peg me as a "Metaller" so I guess it's Metal, even though I like a LOT of Punk, especially Hardcore and a lot of older Punk.
Punk although I do love proper metal

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm i think metal:smoke:![]()
be real!!!!!
I'd say metal. Although all the new stuff coming out these days is either nu-metal or punk, I don't prefer either. I'm more into the real metal. Heavy stuff![]()
i prefer metal but i like most music but my fave band is slayer so it has to be metal
Both are genres i cannot compare but i mainly lsiten to metal over punk.
i prefer punk because metal has some really awful bands, like slipknot and the rest of the screamy, 2 chord nu-metal crew (not all nu-metal, just the crap ones!), and most of black/death metal. i really like bands like iron maiden, black sabbath, megadeth, slayer and (of course) metallica. punk, however, might have some crap bands but they're not totally intolerable plus it just has that edge for me.

There is a lot of good metal around, you just have to find it. Theres hundreds of great underground bands who are making some fucking awesome music but you find them on MTV or on the radio cos they only play music thats safe. The same goes for Punk. Nevermind all the poppy crap thats around like Blink 182 & New Found Glory, bands like Where Fear & Weapons Meet, Reach The Sky, 25 Ta Life, Bane, The Hope Conspiricy, Congress etc. are great Punk/Hardcore bands but you never hear about them. As for good metal bands these days try Arch Enemy, Coalesce, High on Fire, Converge, Soilent Green, Callenish Circle, Carnal Forge, One Dead Three Wounded, Paint The Sky Red, Nasum, Neurosis, Lost Horizon, Edguy, A Life Once Lost, Meshuggah, Dillinger Escape Plan and generally any band that plays music cos they love it and not to make money. Don't wait for the likes of MTV to tell you about bands, go looking for them and you will find a lot of great music
If god loves a winner he's going to want to fuck me in a minute.
i would say i listen to more than enough music to be very confusing..
however i find that although i used to spend all of my time on the metal floor, there really wasn't any place for me there.. just people that i liked talking to.. now i go to punk floor an i'm happy/happier there.. its a hell of a lot more relaxed... but er.. aye..
everyone seemed to believe i only liked metal although i'd always liked punk and emo and alternative etc.. and i've liked bands that go from blues all the way through the veins to industrial... however i have yet to find a country band whose music i enjoy.. and i don't intend to try... that music seriously makes me want to rip peoples eyes out...
i'm just a bundleful of surprises/joy amn't i?
