Entirely predictable, really.
Although Guillemots and Campbell / Lanegan are slight surprises, and pleasant surprises at that.

XFM are whoring them to the max at the moment. I think I've heard Love Song Number 43 about a thousand times since the beginning of July![]()
I’ll be surprised if the prize doesn’t go to the ’Monkeys. Their album sales have dipped just enough by now for them to be due an award or two in order to get units shifting again.
Not that I’m cynical about the MMP or anything.
Personally, I would give it to Hawley.
The interval between birth and death is fractal. Any given moment is infinitely deep and rich, and therefore one lifetime is quite enough for me.
I prefer Milli Vanilli
I've got an old Guillemots 7" that I've listened to precisely twice. More because it's a hassle putting it on than because it's not good.
I had no idea they were taking off though. That's cool.

What album will Guardian readers be buying this Christmas? Find out soon!
I'd give it to Isobel Campbell. But the Mercury prize should go to Sway.
Yo
The Thom Torke album is actually really good, I'm listening to it just now. Impressed.

I'm chuffed to see Hot Chip there, and the Guillemots have become a new favourite, but I'd like to see Isobel Campbell take it.
