jose gonzalez - heartbeats

this is amazing and alternative because when he plays the chords they are so simple but then he plays them along in time with him singing it's so beautiful to be able to keep rythmn that way. kinda natural. something every musician has to learn is rythmn because it brings you to yourself. i know you are all into p0ower chords but it doesn't matter what kind because when you listen to bands like mechauggah and kyuss and joni mitchell and sting and mozart it all becomes the same thing, rythmn of the song. i'm trying to work it out and i think maybe it takes using a bass beat dum dum dum dum and then playing along to that and flinging in a few high hats tish tish tish tish and then the melody you have in your head i think that's why i would love to play with a drummer because then you can bounce off their ideas and blend in your own

how do you other musicians do it?
